Summer Reading Stats … on our Public Desktops!

When we look at libraries then and now, we can clearly see how far libraries have come. Previously, when persons visited libraries to borrow books, they were not allowed to peruse the collection, due to a ‘closed door’ policy. They stood at the desk and ask and receive what they wanted. Now we are able to browse freely, picking and choosing what we want and don’t want, we are also able to access library services in the library’s physical environment, or online at home. Do we appreciate what we have or are we quick to detail all the shortcoming of libraries? Yes libraries need to improve in all areas abd we should advocate for these changes, but let us not take for granted what’s already are at our disposal. Strike a balance, appreciate the bpast and the present, but look forward to the changesin the future.
